End of Summer....

I suppose summer is officially over! We're done with our second week of school, the pool has closed for the season and it's no longer unbearably hot outside. All in all it's been a great summer and I'm sad to see it go. At the same time I'm looking forward to cool crisp days, watching the girls collect leaves or "help" in the yard and other things like our trip to DC, visits to the Pumpkin patch, halloween, etc. It also reminds me that time is going extra fast because all of those things from last year seemed like they just happened yesterday!

School is going really well-- they seem to love their teachers and have started to realize what the routine is. The early mornings (early by Shankman standards) are going OK and when they get home they are exhausted and have been napping well. Perhaps a little too well as bed time is an issue as a result. We may put them in bed around 8pm but they're up talking or requesting bathroom use (Leah) every five minutes. Sigh.

Sydney playing after school last week. She calls those shoes her "preschool shoes" and wants to wear them every day.

One of the things I think they are really enjoying about school is music and movement with Miss Heidi. They've always been big into singing but this really gets them going.
